Le Petit: The small one. This design was inspired by a previous hat I designed, but somehow evolved quite a bit. 40 weeks pregnant and waiting, I was hoping to rework and finish the original design for release. Here’s where things evolved, and I can’t deny that I believe the little babe had some influence.

While functionality is high on the list of requirements for me, so is a sense of grace. With a smaller weight yarn, it felt natural to create small and tight braids that were simple and subtle. There’s something softening about this hat. And as I was patiently waiting for motherhood, the beauty of le petit flowed right from me, through my needles, and into this design.
