Le Velo Jumper
The inspiration for this jumper was a shop that we visited during our last holiday in Santander, Northern Spain. It was called ‘Le Velo’ and had a great mix of relaxed clothes in muted colours.
This jumper is a bit of a copy of one my daughter saw in there but with a thicker wool in order to knit up quickly and provide some warmth over the winter. It’s essentially a very basic drop sleeve cropped jumper with no waist shaping, meant to be worn as a layering piece.
When substituting yarn, make sure that you choose something with a good drape.
Additional information: The pattern does not currently have instructions for sewing it together. I simply sewed the shoulders closed first (leaving the neckhole width as preferred by the wearer), then added the arms (centring them around the shoulder seam) and finally sewed from the wrist right through to the side seams. Blocking evens out the stitches but is not absolutely essential.
