In my previous pattern I showed you how to create a simple leaf. The leaf was designed as a complement/embellishment for this purse. Please check out that pattern, Leaf Flower (link below).
You will need to create 20 leaves for the purse. Before fasten off make sure to leave a long tail for the leaf, we will use the tail to attach to the purse.
In the Leaf Flower pattern, I used a different kind of yarn than the yarn I used to attach to the purse. To create the leaves, I attached to the purse I used Loops & Threads Silky Soft Rayon From Bamboo Light 3 yarn in three different colors, Banana, Pink Pearl, and Violet. Additional supplies we will need are sewing needle, sewing thread – color to match the main color yarn, and stitch markers.
I used a metal purse frame I purchased from Amazon, the current status on the frame is unavailable. In saying that, keep in mind you don’t have to use the metal frame, you could crochet a handle for the purse instead. I just love the look of the frame, so I used it. The yarn we use to complete the purse is Yarn Bee Fundamental Cotton, 100% Mercerized Cotton – medium 4 (worsted). We need 2 different color yarns to complete the purse. The main color yarn is Lipstick Red; we need two skeins (balls) of the Lipstick Red yarn. The secondary color yarn is Olive we only need one skein (ball) of the Olive yarn.
The approximate finished measurement of our purse is 12” wide x 9” tall (excluding handle). The purse comes in only one size.
