This vest is designed for ~ 60 cm (~24 inches) tall ball-jointed dolls with bust-waist-hips measurements of 24 – 16 – 25 cm (9.5 – 6.5 – 10 inches) and heads up to 25.5 cm (10 inches) in circumference. The large neck opening allows the vest to be slid over the doll’s head with the arms upraised (place small plastic bags over the doll’s fingers to keep them from getting caught in the stitching). The vest is sized to be worn over other garments without clinging tightly.

The vest is knit bottom-up in the round. Rows start under the doll’s left arm, work across the front, and then the back. Space for the arm scythes is made by binding off stitches, at which point you work back-and forth across the front until you separate again for the neck opening to work just the left front side, then the right front side. Next you return to the back, separating briefly for the right and left shoulder extensions. The shoulders are grafted or bound off together. Stitches are picked up along the neckline and each arm scythe in turn, to finish with ribbing.

October 2019 version has errors corrected in red:

Do 3 repeats of the bust expansion to get to 40 stitches on the front.

At the front neck split, you should have 28 stitches.

For the neck ribbing: Optional: At the center front, K2TOG while binding off the last two stitches before the center front. SSK while binding off the first two stitches after the center front.

Thank you, Jo.
