Leafen is a V-neck pullover with a leaf lace hem, worked in fingering weight yarn across nine sizes.

The construction is straightforward — double crochet body panels worked flat, with a leaf lace strip at the hem that you block before joining. The lace is a four-row repeat that becomes intuitive quickly, and working both front and back panels at the same time keeps things efficient.

The fit is relaxed and comfortable, with enough ease to wear over a range of layers. Shoulders are seamed, side seams are sewn to your preferred armhole depth, which gives you a little flexibility in the final fit.

If you’ve been looking for a wearable introduction to fingering weight garments, Leafen is a great place to start. The stitch count is manageable, the construction is logical, and the finished fabric has that beautiful drape that only fingering weight delivers.
