This sweet little capelet is perfect for those in-between days too chilly for bare arms but too warm for sweaters. Down to earth enough to wear with jeans and a t-shirt, but with the right yarn and optional beading, Leafy Capelet can be an elegant evening piece as well.

Leafy Capelet is knit from the top down, beginning with a garter stitch band around the collar, then a wide section of stockinette divided into three sections of increases to accommodate the shoulders, and finally flaring out into a pretty lace border.

Yarn: approximately 350 yards of fingering-weight yarn

Needles and Notions: US 6 circular needle with 16” and 24” cords, 200 – 6/0 beads, .75 crochet hook for beading, and stitch markers.

Gauge: approximately 20 stitches per 4” in stockinette

Finished measurements: approximately 30” circumference around the top, 14” top to bottom (bottom flares substantially, depending on gauge and blocking)
