Leafy Vine - Take a Leaf
I seem to be obsessed with leaves right now, not so surprising, as we are in full spring mode here in northern Germany. Everywhere the buds are breaking and leaves are emerging!
About this Pattern:
If you loved my Take a Leaf pendents, you will love this one =) It is highly customizable and works with all sorts of yarn weights. The ones I knitted are in fingering weight / some green sock yarn I had on hand. But you can choose whatever yarn you like.
The Leafy Vine can be used as a curtain tie, as a crown, a belt, wrapped around beams, Lamps and the like or just used as decoration wherever you like.
Yarn
I knitted mine in fingering weight yarn but really you can use any weight of yarn you like, the size will just change.
Size
With fingering weight yarn / sock yarn the little leaves with their branches are about 2,5 / 3 / 3,5cm long. That might vary because of your yarn choice.
You will need
- some yarn (it’s perfect for those leftovers from bigger projects)
- 3dpns
- a st holder or scrap yarn to park some sts
- a sts marker or something else to mark the beginning of your rows
- scissors
- a needle to weave in loose ends.
Skill level
Eager beginner
You should know how to…
- knit in the round with a small mount of sts (dpns / magic loop / two circulars)
- work increases such as m1l and yo
- work decreases such as ssk and k2tog
- how to knit i-cord
