Leas Hat Pattern
The Leas hat is a classic cabled hat worked from the bottom up. It has a folded brim with 1x1 ribbing and beautiful texture that features two different styles of cables. There are 3 sizes available that are suitable for the whole family.
Sizes: S (M) L
Measurements:
Width: 6.75 (8) 9.25” 17 (20) 23cm measured at the widest point of the body flat
Length: 8 (9.75) 11.5” 20 (25) 29cm from cast on edge to the tip of the crown unfolded
Gauge: 24 sts x 28 rounds = 4 x 4” 10 x 10cm in pattern on US 7, 4.5mm needles
Repeat rounds 1 - 8 in body of pattern until gauge swatch measures at least 4 x 4” 10 x 10cm.
Needle Size: US 7, 4.5mm 16” circular needles for the body and crown shaping
US 6, 4mm 16” circular needles for the brim
Optional: US 7, 4.5mm DPNs for the crown shaping
Yarn: DK Weight - Filcolana Peruvian Highland Wool in color 101 109yds / 100m / 50g per skein
130 (180) 210yds / 110 (130) 145m / 60 (80) 95g
held together with
Lace Weight - Filcolana Tilia in color 100 230yds / 210m / 25g per skein
130 (180) 210yds / 110 (130) 145m / 14 (20) 23g
This hat is worked holding one strand of DK weight together with one strand of Lace weight.
Or, you could substitute the 2 strands of yarn for 1 strand of a worsted weight yarn so long as gauge can be met.
Notions: 5 (6) 7 stitch markers, cable needle, yarn needle, scissors, measuring tape
