This large triangular shawl reminded me of the sea hence the name.

The blue is the ocean crashing onto the beach with the mosaic representing the waves breaking into the long stretch of sand.

It is knitted from right to left in the first sections then the mosaic is picked up and knitted on. The sand colour finishes it off with heavy increases that give it the soft points. It is a really easy knit, the mosaic is the most challenging but it is only a 9-stitch repeat and it is easy to read on the knitting.

Anyone can have a go at this; it is a nice adventurous knit for a beginner wanting to learn some new skills or a good train/TV knit for someone more experienced.

I used 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn from the Countess Ablaze monthly Classics box but you can use any colours you want.

Remember that the mosaic section will knit up tighter so I recommend to go up to the larger needles for that section, if you are a very loose knitter you may not need to.
