The design for these socks is inspired by knitting camps. The name ”leirisukat” is Finnish for Camp Socks. The textured pattern on the leg is easy enough to knit while chatting at a camp, making it pleasantly relaxed knitting. Variegated yarns also work beautifully in this design. Cosy knitting camp memories will be knitted into the stitches of the socks.

The socks are worked from the cuff down. After the textured pattern on the leg, the rest of the sock is worked in stocking stitch, which makes them comfortable to wear in shoes. The pattern shows to best advantage when the socks are not knitted too tightly.*

Sizes
The pattern includes four sizes in width: 60 (64) 68 (72) stitches. Foot length is easy to adjust. If only one stitch count is given in the instructions, it applies to all sizes.
