For Ben and Jerry’s retired Lemon Swirl ice cream flavour and the song Lemon Tree by Fool’s Garden which, in part, says:
“I wonder how, I wonder why,
Yesterday you told me ‘bout the blue, blue sky,
And all that I can see, and all that I can see, and all that I can see,
Is just a yellow lemon-tree.”

March 2018:** This new, updated version has kept our popular original pattern but has added a bonus pattern option which adds some cabled detail to the original. This update also now includes both charts and written directions for the charted stitches. Oh, and you’ll notice a tiny addition to the name to reflect the dual pattern options!*

Add a little zing to a cool, dreary day with this little bit of sunshine! Version A in the School Bus Yellow or Version B in Kelly Green can’t help but brighten anyone’s day.

Believe it or not, the spiral lace stitch pattern in Version A (yellow) in this cute rolled-brim hat is created using only a 2-row repeat! How easy is that? The cabled version B (green) uses only a 4-row repeat.

The pattern comes in sizes Newborn to Adult so lots of opportunities to knit matching hats for the family.

Beginning with the self-rolling brim, this hat is knit in the round.

1 stitch marker, tapestry needle, cable needle (Version B only).

Knit in the round, from the brim up.

Version A: Knit, purl, k2tog, p2tog, yo.
Version B: Knit, purl, k2tog, p2tog, yo, 2/2 LC.
