Lemon Sweater
This sweater is inspired by the designer’s son who loves all things bright pink. It is warm and comfortable but created with an acrylic yarn that is sensory-friendly, and washes excellently. It’s perfect for children’s life indoors and outdoors, and the playful colours are visually appealing to little adventurers. The pattern is designed with beginners and busy parents in mind and doesn’t require any fancy techniques. Model is 109cm tall and wearing size 6yrs.
The sweater is knit bottom-up. The hem and body is first knitted with circular needles, then divided into front and back pieces that are worked flat, separately. The shoulder seams are then sewn together, and sleeve stitches are picked up along the armholes to create sleeves which are then knit top-down. Stitches are then picked up to create a neckline to finish. The motif can either be knitted (catch every 5th stitch around), or added after knitting by using the duplicate stitch.
