The Lentil Tote is a felted bag charm inspired by classic tote bags.
It is knit bottom up starting with a flat base panel and then knit in the round. Straps are seamed before throwing it in the washing machine for the felting to do it’s magic. Once felted, there is also the option to add a zipper!

Note: This pattern is just for the Lentil size Legume Tote; the main Legume Tote pattern will still include this size.

SIZES
3in wide x 2.5in tall x 1in deep with 1in straps
7.5cm wide x 6.5cm tall x 2.5cm deep with 2.5cm straps

Sizes above are after felting. Pre-felting measurements are included in the pattern.

GAUGE
13 stitches x 20 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4in in stockinette stitch before felting
16 stitches x 27 rows = 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4in in stockinette stitch after felting

NEEDLES
6mm US 10 with a 20 - 24in circular needle

YARN
Cascade 220 Grande (200g = 220 yds)

Color A (base & straps): 15g
Color B (bag): 15g

This pattern can also be made using Cascade 220 (non superwash) held double or any other 100% wool yarn that meets gauge.

NOTIONS
Darning needle, tape measure, stitch markers, optional zipper slightly longer than your bag’s final width, needle, thread

Long tail cast on, stockinette stitch, picking up stitches, magic loop, slipping stitches, decreasing (K2tog and ssk), seaming (mattress and Kitchener stitch)
