Perfect companion for little ones and kids of all ages, quick and SUPER FUN knit for you!

Leonard and sweater are knit complete all in one piece and stuffed as you go. Starting at the neck with provisional cast-on the head and ears are knit first and face detail embroidered on. The stitches at neck are picked up and the rest of the lion is knit top-down, in-the-round. The tail is knit and grafted on. The mane is a wig that is knit then sewn to the lion.

Extra perk - leave off the mane and tail and you have a lovely bear!

Intermediate level: uses Provisional cast-on, Kitchener Stitch, knitting-in-round, perfect for magic loop, grafting, duplicate stitch

NOTE: gauge for toys is not crucial but…
the knitted fabric should be tight enough to keep the stuffing from poking through.

Materials: 150 yds light worsted in main color, sweater: 50 yds each light worsted or dk in 2 colors, 75 yds heavy worsted or aran weight for mane
