With pride I present you Leopard up and close

Leopard is a pattern for overlay mosaic crochet and interlocking filet crochet (for advanced interlockers only). Both patterns come fully written and with charts. I added for overlay mosaic crochet a large printable X chart at the end of the pdf.
Because of the nature of the design, Leopard needs high contrasting colours to make him pop.

Yarn needed (keep in mind that tension, hook size and yarn choice is of influence)

Mosaic:
Based on hook 3 mm, US D (lap throw)
Pattern colour A dark 2000 meters, 2200 yards
Light background colour B, total 1800 meters, 1850 yards
Keep in mind when you change your hook size or yarn thickness the blanket needs more or less yarn
Size 105 by 145 cm, 41 by 57 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size

Based on hook 5mm, US H (single bed cover)
Pattern colour A dark 3500 meters, 3800 yards without border
Light background colour B, total 3250 meters, 3600 yards without border
Keep in mind when you change your hook size or yarn thickness the blanket needs more or less yarn
Size 150 by 210 cm, 60 by 84 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size
231 stitches by 313 rows
Add 600 meters, 660yards per colour for the envelope border

Interlocking:
Based on hook 3 mm, US D (lap throw).
Pattern colour A dark 1600 meters, 1750 yards
Light background colour B, total 1600 meters, 1750 yards
Keep in mind when you change your hook size or yarn thickness the blanket needs more or less yarn
Size 105 by 150 cm, 50 by 59 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size

You will notice, this pattern does not interlock (connect) both colours in the
beginning. This will create pockets and your work might look loose on the front.
To avoid this, you need to tether (anchor) your pockets by simply
connecting the front and back mesh with a stitch (tethering).
This is why this pattern is for advanced interlockers only.

Based on hook 5mm, US H (single bed cover)
Pattern colour A dark 2750 meters, 3100 yards
Light background colour B, total 2700 meters, 3050 yards
Keep in mind when you change your hook size or yarn thickness the blanket needs more or less yarn
Size 150 by 210 cm, 60 by 84 inches, variations happens due to yarn thickness, tension and hook size
115 by 155 windows
