The Less Traveled Cardigan is knit bottom up, back and forth, with set-in sleeves and hidden pockets. Exquisitely cabled on the front and back, it will quickly become your go-to cardigan. Shown here in a plied superwash yarn, it’s both dressy and cozy with a clean, modern feel; knit it in a rustic base for a cozier, more casual look. Finished with a picked up button band and shawl collar, its thick worsted weight will make it fly off the needles. Did we mention the pockets?!

This pattern, along with ten other beautiful Washington-inspired designs, can be found in issue eight of Nomadic Knits.

Finished bust measurement: 33 (36.25, 39.75, 43.5, 47.25) 50.75, 54.75, 60, 64, 68.25”/ 82 (90.5, 99, 108.5, 118) 126, 137, 149.5, 160, 170.5cm.

To be worn with approximately 6”/ 15cm of positive ease.

Needles: US 7/ 4.5mm or size to obtain gauge in SS, in straight and 32”/ 80cm circular or longer for working body back and forth in rows.

Gauge: 19 sts and 26 rows = 4”/ 10cm in Stockinette stitch.

Note: Garter stitch sections will have a slightly looser stitch gauge, creating a subtle A-line shape, and a tighter row gauge, which may cause the sweater to curve slightly upward in the back while working. This can be blocked out in finishing.
