These felted slippers are made with the yarn SNOW by Drops (previously named Eskimo). This free pattern was published in 2009 and have been updated in 2021 with minor modifications.

These slippers are knitted from the ankle to the toe. The beginning is worked in back and forth rows and the end is knitted in rounds. This pattern is easy to make and can be suitable for beginners.

MATERIAL

YARN :DROPS SNOW or ESKIMO 100% feltable wool, 55 m per 50 g balls) - 3 balls. If you want to make a two color slipper, you will need 2 balls of color A and 1 balls of color B.

NEEDLES : DPN or circular of 8mm (or size needed to obtain gauge before felting).

GAUGE (in stockinette stitch)

  • Before felting: 12 stitches and 16 rows = 10 cm
  • After felting: 14 stitches and 22 rows = 10 cm

NOTES : Felting is done in the washing machine, after knitting the slippers. Expect a shrinkage of 25 to 30% on the length of the knitting (rows) and a shrinkage of 10 to 15% on the width of the knitting (stitches).
