Let it Snow Stag Graphgan Blanket
This is a digital download for the chart and written instructions for colour change
You would need some knowledge of doing single crochet graphgans or willing to learn as this is for the chart and written instructions for colour changes only and doesn’t include ‘how to’ instructions. However, there are some very helpful YouTube tutorials by Willow Crochet that are worth watching and you’ll learn how in no time. I found her method the best and she explains everything so well. Also, with her method the back looks as good as the front so there’s no wrong side.
The finished size of the blanket is approximately 127cm wide by 152cm long but you could add any crochet border of choice to finish it off. An easy one I do is to chain 2, skip 1 stitch and slip stitch in the next stitch and repeat.
I have included Stylecraft DK colours but of course you can change the colours to any that you prefer .
Stylecraft Special DK 1001 White - 8 balls
Stylecraft Special DK 1099 Grey - 2 balls
Stylecraft Special DK 1123 Claret - 1 ball
The tension I used to get the size above is as below using single crochet (US terms) double crochet (UK terms) and using DK yarn.
4”/10cm = 16sts
4”/10cm = 21 rows
If your tension is different, you can use the following equation to see how big your blanket would be with your tension:
Divide your stitches (in my case 16sts) by the swatch size (10cm) = 1.6 sts/cm then divide the stitch
count of the graph width (203) by 1.6 to get your size (203/1.6=127cm wide)
Do the same for the length - 21rows/10cm = 2.1 rows/cm. 319/2.1= 152cm
The download includes 4 pdf files:
- cover page showing picture
- 1 page chart - which can be zoomed in on a tablet or computer
- 4 page chart - which you can stick together to make a large chart if needed.
- Written instructions for chart colour changes.
