This pattern was designed for the 2022 Supersock World Championship

This pattern contains:

  • both a toe-up and a cuff-down construction
  • a photo tutorial for the ladderback jackard technique (LBJ)
  • charts for the bicycle (a mirrored option is included)
  • written instructions and links to videos for the helical striping technique

It is written in three sizes. Very lightly stretched, the circumference is close to the following:

  • Small (56 stitch) size: approximately 7” (17.75cm).
  • Medium (64 stitch) size: approximately 8” (20.5cm).
  • Large (72 stitch) size: approximately 8.75” (22.5cm).

Below is a breakdown of the approximate yarn length needed for each section of the pattern (these numbers are for a pair in the
large size, so you won’t need quite as much for the smaller ones):

Cuff = 10 grams (48 yards / 44 metres)
Background colour of the colourwork panel = 8 grams (38 yards / 36 metres)
Pattern on the colourwork panel = 8 grams (38 yards / 36 metres)
Remainder of the leg and foot = 46 grams total (222 yards / 204 metres)
Heel = 6 grams (28 yards / 26 metres)
Toe = 6 grams (28 yards / 26 metres)
