The celtic cable pattern adds extra warmth, and knitting it is less complicated than it looks. The pattern has both written description and a chart. A couple of evenings worth of knitting, and you have a nice present for a friend. Or yourself.

With suggested yarns/needles it fit a small ladies hand nicely. I used less than a skein, approx 130m, of fingering weight yarn. For other sizes you’ll need to go up on yarn weight and/or needles.
