The Lettuce Sweater is a top-down sweater with slanted shoulders, lettuce hems, and a fitted turtleneck. The back shoulders are worked first, back and forth, then stitches are picked up along the shoulders to work the front pieces and create the slanted shoulders. The front pieces are joined and worked flat until reaching the underarm length. Then, the front and back pieces are joined to be worked in the round, finishing with the ruffle hem at the bottom. Stitches are picked up for the sleeves and short-row shaping is worked. The sleeve is knit in the round and finished with a ruffle hem. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline and worked in 1x1 twisted rib to create the turtleneck, which is completed with a ruffle hem.

The original Lettuce sweater is designed to fit with 1-3 in / 3-8 cm positive ease at the bust! If you’re in between sizes, choose your size depending on whether you’d like your sweater to be more fitted or loose.
