Earlier this year the pattern for Lexi Hat was published, and now I have made a matching headband. I chose to use the same combination of yarns as in the hat - either a fingering weight wool yarn together with a thicker fluffy yarn or a DK wool yarn together with a thinner fluffy yarn.

Very important pattern information -this pattern is not written by a big business or a professional writer. It is written with my own words driven by a passion for knitting, crafting and writing. If you have any questions, please just ask. I check my messages and emails several times every week.

The headband is knitted from one end to the other, where it starts with a provisional cast on to use Kitchener stitch to weave the parts together at the end. The headband can be woven together flat, or it can be woven together with a cross/a twist. The brown prototype is knitted with a fingering weight wool yarn and a thicker fluffy yarn and woven together with a twist. The dark red prototype is knitted with a fingering weight wool yarn and 2 strands of thinner fluffy yarn and woven together flat. The pattern includes a table of recommended lengths for different head sizes. The prototypes were knitted to fit a head circumference of 57-59 cm.

Techniques used in the pattern:

  • Provisional cast on
  • Cable right and left
  • Kitchener stitch stockinette

All techniques are shown on the youtube channel knit_tech.

As always - please send me a message if you have any questions in the pattern. I check my messages several times per week. Since I now have a varied selection of patterns in my shop, I have added a 25% discount when you have 4 or more patterns in your cart. There’s no code needed, but it only activates when it’s 4 or more patterns in the cart.

A like or a follow on any of my platforms are very much appreciated.
