The Lian Book Sleeve is a charming, beginner-friendly project built from six beautifully textured granny squares. Designed for practicality and cuteness, this sleeve keeps your books safe while showcasing classic crochet aesthetics.

Notes:
This pattern uses US terminology
Skill Level: Beginner
Square brackets indicate the pattern and the number of times it is repeated e.g. sc 1, inc x 6 means single crochet one stitch, increase in the next stitch. Repeat 6 times.
Rounded brackets ( ) indicate the number of stitches you should have after each round/row.
Ch1 at the start of a round does not count as a stitch unless stated.
Join every round with a slip stitch (sl st) to the top of the first stitch.
Corners are always made in chain spaces (ch-2 spaces).

Materials:
Yarn – Weight-2 acrylic yarn in three colors
3 colors of your choice (shown here in Dark Pink, Light Pink, and White)
I am using two strands of the weight-2 yarn held together. You can do the same or use a thicker yarn (like weight-4 yarn)
Hook – 4mm hook, 5mm hook for joining
Scissors
You can use this pattern with any type of yarn with the recommended hook size.
