Inspiration:
I have always loved the wrong side of stranded knitting. I knew deep in my gut; I could utilize the long floats somehow. Thus, the double-coloured dragonfly stitch was created.
I love this stitch for so many reasons.

There are so many incredible fibers that feel itchy on sensitive skin. This stitch solves that issue. You can use any itchy yarn on the “outside surface”. Adding to warmth, almost layering the yarns and textures on top of each other, but by using the more skin friendly fiber on the “inside surface” eliminates the skin irritation. The layering effect is so limitless. Imagine any colour, multicoloured, hand spun, gradient yarn as the background colour. Just peeking through to give the knit that interesting dimensional feel.

Place that multicoloured yarn on the outside and the solid as the background. Play, create, explore is my motto.

I am embracing my home spun and home dyed fiber in 2021. I chose the background colour to be just that. A melody of blues and browns. I feel the beanie is reversible really, whatever the mood strikes you.

The outside colour, I picked a solid adding complementary mohair for warmth and fluffy texture.

Libelula means dragonfly in Spanish. The stitch reminds of them.

Enjoy.
