Kathy Zimmerman put her mastery of cables to good use in this classic cardigan. Knit in our washable merino wool, this cardigan works great for work or weekend. An elongated rib extends into the body and segues into a tiny cable twist on the bodice area. We’ve shown it here without buttons and left to hang open , but you may choose to add a row of tiny buttons for a more traditional look.

Materials:
13 (14, 15, 17, 18) skeins Swans Island Washable Wool,
100% Washable Organic Merino Wool, DK weight
(50 gms, 140 yds each) Color Shown #119 Cayenne

US size 4 and 5 (3.5 and 3.75 mm) straight needles,
or size needed to obtain gauge

Stitch markers, removable stitch markers, cable needle, stitch holders or scrap yarn, seven (seven, seven, eight, eight) ½“ buttons.

Bust: 36½ (40½, 44, 47¾, 51¾“, buttoned
Length: 23 (23½, 24½, 25, 26)”
