Library Afghan is knit flat from one end to the other. Easy enough for a brand new knitter … engaging enough for an experienced one.

Sizes: Blanket can be made in small, medium or large sizes: 37 (45.5, 54)“ wide by 41 (50, 60)” long. It can also easily be modified for other sizes.

Shown in large size (although the throw on the chair is a WIP).

Yarn: Sunday Knits 5 ply (worsted weight yarn): Eden (merino), Nirvana (merino cashmere), Angelic (merino angora) or Brigadoon (merino tweed); (each blend has 137 yd /125 m to 1¾ oz / 50 g): 8 (11, 16) skeins.

Shown in Nirvana moss.

Substitute 995 (1495, 2125) yds / 910 (1369, 1950) m any worsted weight yarn.

Needles: Size 8 / 5.0 mm.

Notions: Tapestry needle to weave in ends.

Gauge: 17 sts and 32 = 4” / 10 cm in pattern stitch.

Techniques used: Knit, purl, cast on, bind off.
