LiCa is the abbreviation of Light Cardigan. As its name implies, it is intended for warmer temps and is worked in a laceweight yarn. It is a casual cardigan with 3/4 sleeves and a small shawl collar - perfect to throw on over a tee or tank, especially on cooler summer days. Primarily worked in Stockinette Stitch the highlight is the ribbing pattern in the lower part of the back, forming a triangle. The cardigan is worked top down in one piece with no seams. The sleeves are incorporated into the upper body, using the “simultaneous set-in sleeve method”, developed by Barbara Walker, then they are worked seamlessly in the round. The shawl collar is worked lengthwise, simultaneously with the body.

LiCa ist die Abkürzung für Light Cardigan, übersetzt ins Deutsche „Leichte Jacke“. Wie der Name schon sagt, ist es ein leichtes Jäckchen, gestrickt aus einer dünnen Lace-Wolle. Es ist ein lässiges Jäckchen mit 3/4-Ärmeln und schmalem Schalkragen – perfekt, um es schnell überzuwerfen, vor allem an kühleren Sommertagen. Hauptsächlich glatt rechts gestrickt, ist der besondere Hingucker das Rippenmuster am Rückenteil, das ein Dreieck bildet. Gestrickt wird von oben nach unten (top down) in einem Stück ohne Nähte. Die Ärmel werden nach der von Barbara Walker entwickelten “simultaneous set-in sleeve Methode” mitgestrickt und dann in Runden fertiggestellt. Der Schalkragen wird längs und gleichzeitig mit den Vorderteilen gestrickt.
