A lightweight, airy knit shrug with a flattering waterfall drape. Beginner-friendly, quick to knit and perfect for summer layering, it can be worn loose, tied at the front or fastened with a brooch for three versatile looks. This shrug will work with practically any outfit, making it one of those capsule wardrobe items.

It is done entirely in stockinette - so just knits and purls - and with simple shaping (knit 2 together and purl 2 together).

The waterfall drape and the wide sleeves create a really flattering silhouette.

Needles size 9mm & 5mm (this is just for sleeve hem and if you don’t have 5mm you can use either 4, 4.5, 5.5 or 6mm needles – it won’t make a big difference for this part)

DK yarn (I used mercerized cotton as it is silky on the skin but any DK will work):

80g – 100g -- 120g – 150g as per sizes
XS/S - M/L - XL/2XL - 3XL/4XL

Because you are using 9mm needles, the texture is super light, almost mesh-like, and therefore uses very little yarn. And best of all - it knits super fast!
