Light years away is a super fun & easy triangle shaped shawl that follows charts for the color changes & stitch pattern. Great for the adventurist beginner.

The combinations are infinite & the perfect way to use up that stash & all those wonderful minis that we love so much.

You will need 1 full skein & 5 mini’s skeins of your favorite fingering yarn.

Galaxy Collection Mini Set 5-20 gram minis (87 yds ea approx 435 total)

The pattern works well with a dark & bright contrast between your colors or light & dark or whatever colors that you love together. 78” X 28” after blocking.

TECHNIQUE

  • Cast on
  • Bind off
  • Knit
  • Purl
  • Slip stitch
  • Knit 2 together (1 st decrease)
  • Knit front and back (kfb -1 st increase).
  • Carrying yarn to manage color changes.

CONSTRUCTION

The shawl is knit flat by casting on at one end & working across following charts for color & pattern changes.
Its easy to add your our flare as well by changing colors and pattern whenever you like.

The gauge is not critical, but looser knitting will need more yarn, while tighter knit might feel heavier and your finished size will be different.
