This beanie is an homage to the adorable critters running all around our new neighborhood, the black fox squirrels. Made using Furls Whims Merino Yarn, this double brim crochet beanie will withstand even Michigan winters.

You can get this pattern for free on my blog here.

Just like my new favorite tree neighbors, the fun color pop, knit-like stitch pattern, and faux cat-ear corners will be sure to turn heads and have everyone asking where they can find one.

The Like a Fox Beanie is a great project for any level crocheter. You only need to know a couple variations on the half double crochet stitch to make it happen.

While I wrote this pattern for the DK Whims Merino, following the customization instructions will allow you to use any weight yarn and any size crochet hook, just make sure you meet the given dimensions.
