Simple enough to be comfortable for sweet baby with enough details to add interest. You can choose short or long sleeves and even add the optional fold over mitten cuffs to NB (3 Mo) sizes. This romper works up beautifully in cotton for summer or wool blends for winter. The pattern includes sizes newborn through 2T.

The pattern features written instructions, charts and schematic. It has been thoroughly tested by the most wonderful test knitters and edited by the amazing Susan Hislop (Sue-Cat).

Chest: 18 (20.25, 21.25, 23, 24) in. / 46 (52, 54, 58, 61) cm

Materials:

  • 360 (480, 525, 575, 600) yds / 330 (440, 480, 525, 550) meters Sport or DK weight yarn for long sleeve version. Long sleeve sample was worked with Drops Cotton Merino. Short sleeve sample was worked with Drops Cotton Light Yarn.
  • Size US 3 (3.25 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge in circular needles 16 in. / 40 cm long for smaller sizes or 24 in. / 60 cm long for larger sizes
  • Size US 3 (3.25 mm) DPN or 9 in. / 23 cm circular or length needed for knitting small circumference sleeves in the round
  • Size US 2 (2.75 mm) or one size smaller than gauge needle in circular needles 16 in / 40 cm for neck and leg ribbing and DPN or 9 in. / 23 cm circular for sleeve ribbing.
  • 8 Stitch markers same color or type for raglan markers; 2 different for front markers and another different color or type for BOR
  • 6 (7, 7, 7, 8) buttons – Size 5/8 in. / 16 mm or sew on snap tape
