Lilac Crochet Shawl

The Lilac crochet shawl has a shape of a not-right triangle. It can be constructed with the base line AD straight or concaved, in a size of a shawl or a shawlette, to your choice. It is convenient to use it with a concaved AD shape as a bandana shawl around your neck.

The shawl consists of the main stitch pattern, the decorative Foliage pattern, and ribbing as a decorative element. The decorative part is composed of 3, 4, or 5 repeats of the foliage stitch pattern to your choice.

First, we study the shawl with three repeats, as shown in the picture, and in the extension you will be offered two more additional repeats. When you make your calculations, count in the desired number of decorative repetitions.

Materials

  1. Yarn: choose any yarn suitable for a 4.5 mm – 5.5 mm crochet hook. Approximately 200-350 g. The shawl on the cover page – 350 g of super chunky yarn, hook 5.5 mm. Choose solid colors, tweeds, or hand-dyed yarns. Variegated yarns will obscure the stitch pattern but can add other exciting effects. Z twist single-ply yarns are not recommended for this kind of stitching.
  2. Crochet hook size 4.5 mm – 5.5 mm and the hook 0.5 mm thinner than the one for your project for the row finale.
  3. Tapestry needle to weave in.
  4. 2 stitch markers.
