Lilia Mini Scarf
This pretty mini scarf blends several different knitting techniques to create a beautifully textured and versatile accessory. A herringbone lace pattern is combined with double knit and slip stitches for added structure and visual interest. The lace pattern is thoughtfully reversed at the midpoint of the scarf so that both ends visually match.
The pattern as written makes a scarf that wraps once around the neck and ties - knit size small for a more dainty scarf that requires just 2 balls (50g) of yarn, or knit size large for a more cozy scarf that requires 3 balls (75g) of yarn.
Size Small: 4”/11.5cm wide x 37.5”/95cm long
Size Large: 5.75”/14.5cm wide x 43”/109cm long
The pattern is also very easy to modify to make it wider or longer.
The suggested yarn is a DK 100% cashmere yarn such as Cardiff Cashmere Classic, Lana Grossa Cashmere Pure, or Lang Yarns Cashmere Premium - which are light and airy, have great stitch definition, and are next-to-skin soft, and the pattern is written to maximize yarn usage so you won’t end up with an awkward amount of leftover yarn, nor end up playing yarn chicken.
You may of course substitute with a different yarn if preferred.
The recommended cast on is the double chain crochet cast on, and the recommended bind off is the double chain crochet bind off. I have a video tutorial showing how to do this, as well as one for both stitch patterns. You may also substitute the cast on and bind off with another if you wish.
Knitted flat from end to end.
I would rate this pattern as suitable for advanced beginners to intermediate knitters who are already comfortable with lace, slip stitches and double knit.
Full written instructions, diagram, chart, photos, and all necessary information is included the downloadable PDF. A full video tutorial is linked as well.
