Lilies is a beautiful light cardigan featuring garter stitch bands, a round yoke, and lily-of-the-valley lace panels around the yoke and down the sleeves. In bulky yarn, or worsted and mohair held together, this works up in no time at all.

The sweater is worked flat, starting from the top of the hood and proceeding down the yoke. Each row starts and ends on a four-stitch garter band. When instructions state that a row is done in stockinette, it still includes this four-stitch band.

Sleeves are worked in the round with no seaming.

I have not included instructions for buttonholes or a zipper. I designed this sweater to my wife’s tastes, which are to wear the cardigan open. If you would like to add buttons, create regularly spaced buttonholes on one garter stitch band down the torso.
