The Lilleke light sweater is inspired by the gorgeous Lilleke sock pattern. Aleks created these socks last year with the idea of combining floral and tartan plaid patterns using Roosimine Estonian inlay knitting. She fell so in love with the stitch pattern created for the socks that it needed to be put on a sweater!

To celebrate the release of this fun floral sweater we’re having a knit-a-long! The knit-a-long will run from August 24th to October 17th. This is a Rhinebeck sweater knit-a-long, and whether you’re planning on attending the autumnal knitting festival in New York or joining in the global virtual knitting party- everyone is welcome! Let’s knit a beautiful Roosimine sweater together and fall even more in love with Roosimine Estonian inlay knitting.

This pattern is part of the Lilleke sweater collection consisting of Lilleke sweater and Lilleke tee. Purchase all 3 for a special bundle price.

NEEDLES

  • US 2 / 2.75 mm – 16” / 40 cm and 32” / 80 cm circular needles and DPNs for ribbing

  • US 3 / 3.25 mm – 16” / 40 cm and 32” / 80 cm circular needles and DPNs for Stockinette stitch and Roosimine

When working the roosimine on the yoke, it can help to change the circular needle length as stitches are increased. Changing needle length will also help with tension of roosimine floats. Suggested needle lengths to use are 16”, 24”, 32” and even 40” / 40, 60, 80 cm and even 100 cm for more space
