Lily-Anna can be knitted on any gauge knitting machine in any yarn. The 4ply version creates a doll approximately 18 inches high. Different machines and yarn weights will produce different sized dolls. Just remember to keep the yarn thickness and tension the same for the doll and clothes.

The pattern is suitable for any flat bed knitting machine and no ribber is required. The doll in the image is knitted in 4ply yarn on a Brother KH860 single bed machine. There are two different face charts with either rosy cheeks or freckles that you can either swiss darn on afterwards or use a punch card. Full instructions are provided to knit the doll and clothing which comprises of a pinafore dress with pockets, a pair of knickers and a cardigan. There are also instructions for different hair styles and boots / shoes.

The boots or shoes are knitted onto the legs using short rows. The shaped foot is suitable for any machine with holding position facility or there is an alternative leg if your machine does not hold.
