These loose, slightly puffy beanies celebrate the lovely vertical stripes and squishiness of brioche ribbing. Each hat, as written, is reversible. If you wish, choose a favorite side and add a pompom for extra éclat.

Worked with the yarn-below, brioche stitch method, this hat uses two colors to create vertical stripes. If using Sheep(ish), the largest hat takes about 2/3 of a skein of your main color and less than 1/2 of your contrast color.

Brioche stitch makes a squishy, wide, lofty fabric, so look for yarns that would complement the stitch.

As of 4/9/13, the pattern has been amended to include instructions that you should use the contrast color for all knit rows and the main color for all purl rows within the brioche pattern. You will, therefore, decrease only within the contrast color rows.
