The socks are worked in the charming “mock cable” pattern, which creates elegant illusions of braids and gives a subtle, timeless look. They are knit from the leg down towards the toe, with the “mock cable” continued across the instep, while the sole is worked in stockinette stitch.

Sizes: 35-37 (38-40) 41-43

Size guide: If you wear size 42 shoes but have slim calves and feet, you may choose to knit the socks in size 38/40 and simply lengthen the foot as needed. Conversely, if you have smaller feet (e.g. size 36) but wider calves and feet, you may choose to knit size 38/40 and shorten the foot length.

Recommended needles: 2.5 mm double-pointed or circular needle (80 cm)

Gauge: 32 sts x 42 rows = 10 x 10 cm
