Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Summer 2009:
Mari Lynn Patrick makes simple knitting interesting with directional panels and varied ribbings in Linda’s Wrap Vest. A curving shawl collar, floating fronts, and a springy, structured linen yarn create wrap-the-body fit that looks good on everyone.

Cover illustration.

Finished Size: 34½ (36½, 38½, 41, 43, 45½, 47½)“ bust circumference. Vest shown measures 36½”, modeled with positive ease. Note: Because of the way the fronts hang when buttoned as shown, the garment actually has more positive ease than just the difference between bust measurement and garment measurement.

Yarn: Fibra Natura Flax (100% linen; 137 yd [125 m]/50 g): #04 pearl, 7 (8, 9, 9, 10, 12, 13) skeins. Yarn distributed by Universal Yarn.

Needles: Size 5 (3.75 mm): straight and 16” circular (cir). Size 6 (4 mm): straight. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Removable marker; marker (m); 2 yd contrasting, smooth yarn; size D/3 (3.25 mm) crochet hook; one 5/8” button; tapestry needle.

Note: Vest is worked from side to side. It begins at the left-front edge, works along the left underarm to the back, then along the right underarm to the right-front edge. The ribbed border also forms the left shoulder.
