Lindaus is a generously sized throw pillow with a simple, contemporary stranded knitting motif. The pillow is worked flat as two square panels. The pattern instructions offer two different finishing options: simple seaming with three-needle bind off and mattress stitch, or an I-cord edging (shown). Choose any two contrasting neutrals, or go bold with bright colors!

This is an intermediate level pattern. Knitters should have experience with stranded knitting technique and following a simple two-color chart. Knitters will also use the provisional cast on technique, three-needle bind off and mattress stitch techniques, or I-Cord bind off technique.

The gauge is 18 sts and 22 rows over 4” (10cm) in stranded Stockinette Stitch over chart pattern, blocked.

The Lindaus Pillow fits a standard 20 x 20” (50 x 50cm) pillow form.

For this design I used Knit Picks Snuggle Puff (Heavy Worsted Weight, 70% Pima Cotton, 30% Nylon; 142 yds/50g) Featured here in MC Vixen 28790, 3 balls; and CC Fawn 27822, 2 balls.

You will also need two sets of 24” (60cm) or 32” (80cm) circular needle (second needle needed for both bind-off methods) in US 7 (4.5mm) or size to obtain gauge. You will also need a 60” (150cm) circular needle in same size for the I-Cord bind off option, or a third needle or DPN for the three-needle bind off option.

This pattern includes a two-color chart, written instructions including detailed instructions of techniques, and a link to a video tutorial on mattress stitch technique.
