Linje Vest is a sleeveless, button-front vest with a clean silhouette and distinctive details that give this cosy layering piece its own character.

A cast-on that becomes a design detail
The vest begins with a crochet chain cast-on in a contrasting colour, which remains in place as a feature line across the back.

A gentle line
Watch the cast on line shape into a gentle curve as the back takes shape.

Soft, tactile texture
Reverse Stockinette stitch brings the purl side of the boucle yarn to the outside, creating a soft, pebbled texture that brings depth and character to the fabric.

Clean lines, contrasting textures
Folded Stockinette stitch edgings in a contrasting colour create clean lines on both sides of the fabric. The neat, defined edges complement the soft, textured boucle, giving the vest a refined finish.

A gentle sloping hem
Short rows shape the hem with gentle slopes, adding a soft contour to the vest.

Quick to knit, rich in texture
Big needles and a bulky yarn with a great texture make Linje Vest a quick, satisfying knit.

Sample colour: Alla Ting

4 (4, 5, 5, 6)(6, 7, 7, 8) skeins

About the yarn and substitution:

Varv is a yarn with textured twist produced by combining unspun wool pre-roving with a Nutiden-spun core. Produced by Höner och Eir using 100% Swedish wool, the unique combination gives Varv a lofty and airy texture backed by the strength of a spun yarn.

To achieve a similar fabric and finish to the sample, choose a yarn with a similar textured, twisted and lofty construction and comparable meterage when substituting.

CC
Aran weight
Zealana Tui Chunky Weight (111 m / 121 yards per 100 g, 70% fine NZ merino, 15% cashmere, 15% brushtail possum)
Sample colour: T02 Black

40 (50, 60, 65, 75)(80, 90, 95, 105) m /
45 (55, 65, 70, 80)(85, 95, 105, 115) yards
1 skein

For the CC, an Aran to Bulky weight yarn without textured twist is recommended to create defined outlines. Choose a yarn that works with the gauge of your work to produce Stockinette stitch folded edges without puckering or stretching the fabric.

NEEDLES

One 6.5 mm / US 10½ circular needle, 60 cm / 24” or longer
One 6.5 mm / US K-10½ crochet hook

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTIONS

Removable stitch markers, stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn for holding stitches, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
