Link Kerchief is a neat triangle with a nice k2, p2 ribbing pattern. It’s a quicker knit in DK yarn, and the sample is shown in scraps of Malabrigo Arroyo and handspun yarn.

This is knit mostly flat,,but partially in the round (i-cord) and also uses an i-cord bindoff; everything is in the finishing details with this one. I also really like bias-knit ribbing.

Gauge:
Gauge is 21 sts and 32 rows over 4”/10cm of stockinette stitch, worked flat and blocked lightly.

Measurements:
This kerchief measures 19.25(20)“/49(51)cm in circumference and 10(11.5)”/25(29)cm deep at its widest.

The sample shown is the larger size; the smaller option may work a little better as an earwarmer/neckwarmer because it should have more negative ease. You can bind off without completing the pattern repeat though, so checking your fit as you approach the end is not a bad idea!

Materials:

  • 42g/142-150yds of soft sportweight wool (main sample shown in Malabrigo Yarn Arroyo in Pocion and Chircas colorways, and hand-dyed handspun yarn scraps)
  • 1 16” circular needles in US5/3.75mm, or size needed for gauge
  • 3 DPNs in size needed for gauge
  • smooth scrap yarn for provisional cast-on
  • crochet hook for provisional cast-on
  • tapestry needle for weaving in ends
