LION

Note: The German version of this pattern is available through Etsy and DaWanda. :-)

✿ ✿ ✿
No sharp teeth or long claws in sight here. This Lion only wants one thing: to cuddle and snuggle.
He also promises to not hunt down other cuddly toys in his territory. :)

So, it’s pretty safe to crochet him. ;)

Edit: With my daughter’s permission I changed the Lion’s face a little bit and gave him a crocheted blue nose. :)

❤ Crochet skill level: easy.

❤ Size: 21.5 cm (including ears)
The size depends on the gauge and yarn you’re using.
I’m using Puppets Lyric yarn from Coats and a 3 mm hook.

❤ The pattern contains lots of reference pictures and step-by-step-instructions.

❤ Crochet pattern in PDF format, available in two languages:

English: US crochet terms, English texts and descriptions
or
German: German crochet terms, German texts and descriptions

Note: The German version is available through Etsy and DaWanda.

❤ info:
The figure is crocheted in continuous rounds/spirals;
rounds are not joined;
use a stitch-marker to mark the beginning of each round;

❤ techniques used in this pattern:

  • magic ring (recommended)
  • chain
  • single crochet
  • increase and (invisible) decrease
  • slip stitch
  • changing yarn-color (instructions included)
  • surface crochet (for the optional hems and for the mane) (instructions included)
  • crocheting in the round (rounds are not joined!)
  • crocheting back and forth in rows
  • some embroidery (for the face and button)
  • some basic sewing (body-parts)

❤ materials used:
