You may use any yarn to make this toy, just make sure to use correct hook size with your yarn.

You will need following or similar materials to crochet Little Lion as on the picture:

Himalaya “Dolphin Baby” yarn
Brown (80337) - 1 skein
Yellow (80313) – 1 skein
White (80301) a little for muzzle
Crochet hook size №4
Safety eyes size 10 mm
Safety nose size 2016 mm
Strong white cotton thread for tightening – 30 cm
Black thread, I use YarnArt «Jeans» for nose and eyebrows embroidery – 50 cm long
Scissors
Needle for sewing with large eye
Filler hollofiber 100 g
Brown thread, I use YarnArt «Jeans» for mane sewing
