The lace pattern in the yoke of the Lion Grove Pullover is inspired by the lattice windows of the Suzhou Lion Grove Garden. These windows are not merely decorative—they also guide the viewer’s gaze into the garden, creating a sense of concealment and soft mystery. The Lion Grove Pullover can be knitted with fingering-weight yarn of any fiber composition. The sleeve length can also be easily adjusted to suit your preference, making it a versatile, year-round wardrobe staple.
The Lion Grove Sweater is worked top-down. It begins with a provisional cast-on to form the collar, which is knitted in a double-layer fold. The yoke increases are worked at the shoulders while the lace pattern is established. The front and back are then worked separately in rows until the underarm, after which the body is joined and worked in the round. Finally, the sleeves are picked up and knitted.
