Yarn requirements for this pattern are 2 balls of the main colour and 1 ball of the secondary. The pattern is mostly written but includes a chart for the colourwork. This pattern is knitted in the round. We find it easiest to use circular needles for this pattern in two lengths, starting with the smallest, but this is a personal preference.

This hat is soft and has a good fit due to its ribbed pattern over the ears. It is also quite warm because of the double brim, and shapes easily to your head.

There are a total of six lions marching along the edge, and if knitted in a rich red and yellow it will make a very good woolen gryffindor house hat. The choice of colors is all up to you!
