I love the look of big, flowy garments. Often times, when I try to recreate those looks on my small frame I end up looking stumpy, blocky or like I’m wearing an afghan. There is nothing wrong with afghans, I just don’t want to wear one to work or the grocery store. This Ruana is designed to hit just below the hip in the front, to give you a bit more coverage in the back and to extend out to just below your elbow, to create balance and warmth.

You can style this garment many different ways, wearing it with a shawl type collar, adding a button, throwing a side over your shoulder or just let it hang. The shape of the Lisa Ruana ensures that it will stay put without shifting around or falling off when your shopping, chasing kids or at work.

In this pattern you will get written directions, color charts and a schematic. I even have a few close up shots of some of the trickier techniques.

I used Craft Yarn Council guidelines when sizing this garment but kept the integrity of the design so that while it is bigger, it will still remain cropped.
