This pattern was inspired by a recent trip to Portugal and all the beautiful tiles. The top of the sock features an innovative mocked ruffle in contrasting yarn. There is a color work section at the top of the sock and a small complimentary section on the foot. I do love a little fancy detail even if it is hidden in my shoe. The heel flap is done with the Eye of Partridge technique. I think this provides a little extra cushion and adds to the longevity of the socks. The toe in this pattern is rounded. I think it is lovely and fits well in my shoes.

I do find yarns that have a higher contrast in hue and color are most successful in colorwork. I used one mini for the contrast and didn’t use all of the 400 gram skein.
