The Lisburn Cowl is a cozy accessory featuring garter stitch and a decorative eyelet pattern, finished with a delicate picot edge. It beautifully combines warmth and style, offering exceptional results with minimal effort. This relaxing project is flattering, comfortable, and very easy to wear.

When worn, the cowl resembles an asymmetric triangular shawl. For those who find styling shawls challenging, this cowl offers a practical, stylish solution! Plus, its effortless design makes it an ideal choice for thoughtful gift-giving.

The cowl is shaped like an irregular pentagon. It starts with 3 cast-on stitches and is worked back and forth in rows on the bias. It is shaped with increases and decreases, along with a built-in faux I-cord at both the neck opening and the bottom edge. It is joined into a tube at the back with an invisible garter-stitch seam.

The Lisburn Cowl is available in two sizes, each requiring less than one skein of fingering-weight yarn. You can choose between a classic solid colour or vibrant, eye-catching stripes.

Designed for fingering-weight yarn, this design also looks beautiful in Sport or DK yarn.

Instructions, a video link and helpful photos are included for adding a new yarn and managing multiple yarn ends.

The instructions include stitch counts for each row, presented in a clear, row-by-row format.

This is a written pattern.

Lisburn is a city located southwest of Belfast, Northern Ireland, situated in a lush, fertile valley alongside the River Lagan. In 2002, Queen Elizabeth II awarded it city status as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations. Linen plays a significant role in Lisburn’s history and culture, having been favoured by European royalty. Notably, Irish linen was used for the napkins on the Titanic and even in Neil Armstrong’s parachute.
