Lite Bright Loop brings all the playful color blending of our fan-favorite Lite Bright and Extra Lite Bright sweaters into a cozy, wearable cowl. This is a stash lover’s dream: grab your leftovers, minis, handspun treasures, or the ends of your sweater fades and turn them into a colorful accessory thats super fun and easy to knit.

Using a simple stranded colorwork motif (no floats), Lite Bright Loop lets you mix shades in a way that feels organic and expressive. Fade boldly, knit softly shifting gradients, or go full confetti explosion, every loop becomes one of a kind.

And because every stash looks different, the pattern is actually 4-in-1, with separate charts for:

  • Fingering weight – 5 colors
  • Fingering weight – 17 colors (also adaptable to 9 minis for a single-loop)
  • DK weight – 5 colors
  • DK weight – 19 colors (also adaptable to 10 minis for a single-loop)

Work the whole thing in fingering weight, all in DK, or hold fingering yarn double to meet DK gauge. Our red sample follows the 5-color fingering version, while the green/autumn sample was knit using the DK 5-color version with a mix of DK scraps, handspun, and fingering held double.

Construction Overview

Lite Bright Loop begins with a provisional cast-on and is knit in the round in stranded colorwork to your chosen length. When you’re done, the two ends are joined seamlessly with Kitchener stitch to create a smooth infinity loop that can be worn long or doubled around your neck.

Designed with full creative freedom, you can work from:

  • DK leftovers
  • Fingering minis
  • Handspun
  • Fingering held double for marling
  • Any mix you love, toss in a bit of worsted, we won’t tell!

Lite Bright Loop isn’t about perfection. It’s about color, curiosity, and using what you have to make something that’s uniquely yours.

Yarn Used in Samples

Red Sample: Fingering Weight — 5-Color Version
Green + Autumn Sample: DK Weight — 5-Color Version, using DK scraps, handspun, and fingering held double

For Lite Bright Loop, yarn possibilities are endless. Work entirely in fingering weight, entirely in DK, or hold fingering double to achieve DK gauge. Charts are included for both 5-color and 17/19-color versions which can also be adapted to use only 9 or 10 minis as well.

Approximate yarn requirements are listed by weight and color count, but total grams will vary depending on your chosen combinations.

Needles

  • Fingering: US 4 (3.50 mm) 16–20” circular
